WINEMAKING

The Grenache fruit was selectively handpicked from 120-year-old bush vines.

Gently destemmed and cold-soaked for 14 days.

Slowly fermented for an additional 14 days, then gently pressed into a mixture of new and 2-year-old French Oak barrels.

TASTING NOTE

A bright and expressive McLaren Vale Grenache with juicy red cherry and ripe raspberry fruit that leaps from the glass. Subtle spice and earthy nuances unfold on the palate, framed by fine tannins and a long, vibrant finish, an elegant, medium-bodied expression of classic Grenache charm with depth and balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does “early release” mean in this Grenache?

Early release means the wine is bottled and released sooner to highlight fresh, vibrant fruit flavours, rather than ageing for long periods. It’s designed to be enjoyed young and lively.

  • What does Curtis Early Release Grenache taste like?

It shows bright red berries like raspberry and cherry with juicy, lifted aromatics, delivering a fresh, smooth, and easy-drinking finish.

  • What is the alcohol content of this Grenache?

It typically sits around 14% ABV, offering a balanced body with a vibrant, fruit-forward profile.

  • Is Early Release Grenache dry or slightly sweet?

It is a dry wine, but the fresh fruit expression gives a juicy and approachable feel, making it very easy to drink.

  • Why is this wine ideal for summer or warm-weather drinking?

Because of its light texture, bright fruit, and refreshing style, it feels less heavy than traditional reds, making it perfect for relaxed, warm evenings.

  • Can I lightly chill this Grenache before serving?

Yes—slight chilling (around 12–14°C) enhances its freshness and fruit clarity, especially in warm weather.

  • Does this wine need decanting?

Not necessary—this style is meant to be opened and enjoyed straight away, though a few minutes in the glass can help it open slightly.
