WINEMAKING

60-year-old Shiraz vines, planted on sandy soil.

Selectively picked in early morning hours at 14° Baume to preserve natural acidity and aromatic compounds.

The fruit is gently destemmed and berry sorted.

7-day cold soak at 8°C, then slowly fermented for 14 days in small open-top fermenters. Peak fermentation temperatures are held at 18°C with gentle pump overs with air twice daily. Aging 36 months in French oak barrels (80% new, 20% neutral). Malolactic fermentation is completed naturally in the barrel.

Drinking beautifully now through 2045

TASTING NOTE

The Martins Vineyard Limited Shiraz is a captivating wine that greets the senses with its deep, dark purple hue, hinting at the richness that awaits.

On the nose, the aroma is a tantalising symphony of lifted fresh berry fruits, including succulent blackberries, juicy raspberries, and luscious mulberries. These vibrant fruit notes dance harmoniously, intertwining with delicate hints of spice, creating an alluring and complex bouquet.

Upon tasting, the palate unveils an exquisite tapestry of red berry fruits, enveloping the senses in a wave of indulgence. The fine, well-integrated tannins provide a sturdy framework, lending structure and elegance to the wine. Generous fruit characters abound, showcasing the winemaker's mastery and the vineyard's bounty. The balance achieved is truly remarkable, as the fruit is expertly complemented by the subtle presence of integrated oak, adding depth and sophistication to every sip.

This Shiraz possesses a remarkable ability to age gracefully, demonstrating its potential for further maturation. Enjoy it now to revel in its youthful exuberance, or cellar it for 15 to 20 years, allowing it to evolve into something truly extraordinary. Whether savoured in its vibrant youth or after patient aging, this wine promises to reward those who appreciate wine of great balance and style.
